The Name Game

Ashamed to admit

I’m falling victim to this.

Suffering,

but then again,

who doesn’t.

They say,

it’s common among men my age.

You pull it out

flaunting it

waving it around

as if we’ve not seen it before.

Regaling us with tales

of where you’ve been

what you’ve done to get here

those

who know your name.

But lil’ ‘ol me?

I can’t get it up

or down on the page.

The pen

is mightier than the sword

and we can wax phallic poetic

all nite long,

but I don’t want to fight you.

Let us both enjoy the moment

so please,

don’t say a word.

Your talk about its size

gives you away.
